Booking a trip on the Great Orme Tramway is an exciting day out for schools or groups.

As well as taking a ride on the tramway, there’s so much to do on the Great Orme, from exploring ancient mines to zooming down a ski slope! Take the opportunity to learn about local history, geography, engineering and biology.

Copper Mines

A visit to the bronze age copper mines

One of the country’s most important archaeological sites and the largest Bronze Age mine in the world. Visitors will hear about the mine’s history and watch a short film before enjoying a hard-hat self-guided tour down the pre-Roman mines. The Mines are a 5 minute walk from the Halfway Station and have facilities for lunch indoors and outdoors.

School Ticket Prices

School tramway return (3 – 16) – £6.50

For every 8 children, 1 adult travels free.

Additional adults will be charged at the school rate.

Once you have booked with us, you will receive full booking confirmation of your visit and a group risk assessment document. You will note from your booking confirmation letter that as we are a public service, we cannot guarantee your booked time slot, however, in order to secure the best possible chance of securing this slot, please try and arrive 10/15 minutes early.

Are you arriving by coach?

Ask your driver to drop you off at Prince Edward Square (see map below) which is by Llandudno’s Pier and a 5 minute walk from the Tramway; follow Church Walks up to the Tramway which you will see located on your right hand side.
